About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W6A6AA US ARMY INTELLIGENCE AND SECURITY CMD, U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command, Security Resiliency Activity ACOFS, G-2.

Duties

Serves as a Program Protection Architect in the Army Research and Technology Protection Center (ARTPC), Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). Provide support to the functional areas C4ISR, aviation, missiles and space; and to organizations including Army Materiel Command (AMC). Ensure the execution of the Army's research and technology protection (RTP) and program protection planning (PPP) processes.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) will be required and will constitute up to 10% of the time.
  • This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program. (See additional information)
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • May be required to take a counterintelligence scope polygraph examination, if access to a special access program is required.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12). Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
