THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a MOBILE EQUIPMENT REPAIR INSPECTOR - TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD0680000 and is part of the KY CSMS, National Guard.
Duties
As a MOBILE EQUIPMENT REPAIR INSPECTOR - TITLE 32, WG-5801-11, you will inspect a variety of heavy mobile equipment, vehicles, and electronic equipment. May inspect small arms, heavy artillery, powered support and other equipment or components. Examine equipment, vehicles, or their components while in operation and standby condition. Perform road tests on brakes, steering mechanisms, engine performance, clutch, gear shifting, panel instruments, and gauges. Perform inspection checks by performing various operation tests. Check overall equipment or vehicle performance, prescribed tolerances and safety factors. Inspect equipment and vehicles when received to determine repairs needed and parts required. Determine whether the cost of repairs exceeds the value of the equipment or vehicle. Prepare lists of needed repairs and send equipment to mechanics for necessary action. Perform in process inspections to assure that equipment is being repaired in accordance with pertinent requirements. Perform final inspection, sign inspection reports certifying that vehicle or equipment is in satisfactory operating condition, or reject the work and return the vehicle or equipment to the repair shop with specific reports prescribing additional repairs. Serve as an inspector on Command Maintenance Evaluation Teams (COMET) and/or Maintenance Assistance and Instruction Teams (MAIT). Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:
Experience which demonstrates knowledge of equipment to be able to do routine jobs, simple preventative maintenance tasks, and is able to use common tools and equipment in the line of work.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must have 18 months of experience diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and modifying more complex vehicles, equipment, and more complicated systems. Experience which has provided a thorough knowledge of diagnostic equipment. Experience applying independent judgment in determining methods and techniques required to solve unusually complex maintenance and repair problems. Experience testing, inspecting, and evaluating the work performed on vehicles, equipment and systems.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
