Duties

You will serve as a Computer Scientist responsible for applying knowledge of math, science, and computer science methodology and practices to solve a variety of component level through system level technical problems. You will lead multidisciplinary teams to accomplish complex technical tasks and review work products and deliverables od team members and subordinates, including anticipating user demands for additional functionality. You will seek out appropriate work opportunities within the assigned IPT and independently plan, organize, and lead execution of these opportunities with little to no supervisory oversight. You will present technical/project status to appropriate team members, project leadership and supervisory chain identifying major accomplishments, risks, and opportunities. You will apply advanced knowledge of scientific and programming principles across the Command, Control, Computers, Communication, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Business information domains. You will utilize advanced knowledge of Azure, AWS, and SharePoint. You will utilize advanced knowledge of scripting and collaborative systems architecture. You will communicate, advocate, negotiate, and build professional networks internally and externally. You will communicate orally and in writing with peers, subordinates, and senior leaders both internally and externally. You will plan, organize, and execute complex program-level and system-of-systems efforts. You will lead and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team. You will mentor, train, and guide a diverse workforce with varying skill sets and experience.

  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 451 level Intermediate within 12 months of appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or ND-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Utilizing modern programming languages, Microsoft PowerShell scripting, and SharePoint architecture. Managing and reporting technical sustainment efforts, delivering user-driven functionality and UI improvements, implementing technical solutions that adhere to legal and regulatory standards for Records Management. Education

Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:

1550:Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree in computer science OR a bachelor's or higher degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science OR at least 15 of my 30 semester hours were in a combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.
