About the Position: Serves as an Executive Administrator and expert technical advisor to the Deputy to the Commanding General (DCG), Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC).
Duties
Make authoritative recommendations, exercise professional judgment, initiative, and executive leadership while directing, coordinating, molding, and representing the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Commands programs and initiatives.
May work special projects or special assignments for other senior leaders of the command as directed by the Deputy Commanding General.
Shares with the Deputy Commanding General the responsibility for technical quality, professional consistency, and practical values of the on-going administrative initiatives in achieving stated Army goals.
Assists directorates and staff offices in the development of goals and objectives and establishes workload priorities as directed by Deputy Commanding General.
Reviews activities and recommends appropriate action to assure achievement of objectives.
Provides consultant services and technical advice on difficult and unprecedented problems or potential conditions requiring special consideration and attention as it relates to the overall mission.
Provides technical advice and guidance for improvements and anticipates areas of concern.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- This position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
