You will serve as a INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Installation, Logistics and Environmental Department of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION YUMA.

Duties

You will maintain the inventory accuracy level/rating as prescribed in Naval/marine Corps instructions. You will ensure stocking requirements for specific inert and live ordnance items are met. You will maintain records and controls over ordnance in stock, due in or planned for the distribution system. You will plan and determine current and future requirements for ordnance support. You will conduct extensive research of computer data, transacton records/files and determine reason for delay or rejections.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime may be required.
  • You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: utilizing automated systems to maintain, manage, and coordinate a supply/inventory of ordnance materials. GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least three years of general experience that includes one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector utilizing automated systems to manage inventory; and providing assistance on supply/inventory of ordnance materials. one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: utilizing automated systems to maintain, manage, and coordinate a supply/inventory of ordnance materials. . Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

GS-07:
Successful completion of one full year of graduate level education
OR
Successful completion of bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience

GS-05:
4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree
