About the Position: This position is located at the Rock Island Arsenal Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center (RIA-JMTC)
Duties
Serve as Lead Quality Assurance Specialist for assigned items such as weapons, combat vehicles, tools and equipment, fire control devices, and auxiliary items.
Participate in quality control and reviews.
Plan, prepare, administer and execute the plan and procedures for the organization.
Execute quality reviews to determine compliance with technical data.
Organizes comprehensive reports of complete studies
Provides on-the-job training to new or developing employees
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- DATACL1i TACOM D and A Level 1 Certification Requirement. The incumbent must meet all requirements for this certification within 12 months of being placed.
Qualifications
Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 1 year by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition.

Specialized experience at GS-12: Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as: Performing a wide range of quality assurance planning or analysis functions; recommending solutions to quality assurance issues involving production facilities to assure mission material meets established requirements; providing quality assurance support to team members; and perform quality assurance functions in pre/post award activities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
