The National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) leads the nation's effort to protect the United States from terrorism by integrating, analyzing and sharing information to drive whole-of-government action and achieve our national CT objectives.
Duties
Develop, utilize, and refine a full range of methodological tools and approaches to gain a comprehensive understanding of complex and significant analytic issues and incorporate insights and findings into well-crafted, sophisticated intelligence products.
Share expertise with others and mentoring more junior officers in the Directorate and across NCTC.
Lead the production of a broad range of operational leads and intelligence products in support of US operational, foreign policy, and national security interests.
Cultivate and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues, experts, IC members, policy committees, and law enforcement agencies as appropriate and using these relationships to share information of interest.
Provide leadership and expert guidance to the planning, analysis, and application of a full-range of methodological tools and approaches to gain a comprehensive understanding of complex analytical issues and incorporate insights and findings into well-crafted, in-depth intelligence products.
Plan, prepare, and present written analysis and oral briefings to the most senior internal and external customers on counterterrorism issues; explain the most complex concepts to non-expert customers and tailor the output to correspond to customer needs.
Oversee the development and implementation of strategies for driving collection, or historical information in support of US interests and policy objectives; cultivate and identify key internal and external sources of relevant information that meet customer and self-derived needs.
Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements:
Superior interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills, in working with individuals at the highest levels of the IC and government in justifying, defending, negotiating, and resolving significant and controversial issues.
Outstanding mentoring skills.
Recognized expertise in targeting analysis tradecraft and high degree of comfort in working in a collaborative setting.
Superior experience and expertise in effectively working with policymakers, law enforcement organizations, warfighters, or state and local officials and a deep understanding of their intelligence/analytic requirements and priorities.
Superior critical thinking skills demonstrated in a portfolio of published analysis that show applicant's ability to think creatively.
Superior ability to execute senior-level guidance in a fast-paced environment and superior ability to translate strategic goals into specific objectives with appropriate metrics and methods to track progress towards meeting those goals.
Superior ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels, both internal and external to the organization, to give oral presentations and to otherwise represent the NCTC, as needed, in interagency meetings.
4-year degree or equivalent military experience in an applicable focus area.
Desired Requirements:
Counterterrorism experience.
Familiarity with broad range of IC and law enforcement tools and databases.
Familiarity with the legal authorities and roles of a broad range of national-level IC and law enforcement agencies.
Ability to travel domestically and overseas for short periods.
