About the Position: Applicant should have experience in developing major exercise and major exercise planning models including exercise life cycle event coordination and execution of War Fighter Exercises and Combat Training Center. Also, experience and expertise in Brigade and Division organizational structure and staff training models aimed at increasing training and deployment readiness in units. Must have detailed knowledge in deployment requirements and processes for reserve components.
Duties
Conduct research and compiles data, information and statistics used in preparing recurring and special report requirements.
Use a wide variety of sources to obtain data for use in preparing background reports of a statistical nature for planning purposes and briefings.
Provide situational awareness and decision-making capability for the Command on issues relating to unit assessment and training plan development.
Review and comment on post-mobilization training plans for higher and adjacent headquarters.
Conduct formal meetings and conferences.
Discuss effect of changes to planning policies, doctrine, and directives, and provides guidance in revising or developing new training plans.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Temporary duty (TDY) business travel is required approximately 15 percent of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience 1) evaluating training trends to determine if the training unit or mobilizing unit's training plan increases training readiness 2) develop training plans in coordination with training or mobilizing units that meet training validation requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-09 or above.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent GS-09.
