This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: The position is located at the Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Fleet Management Expansion (FMX), Fort Moore, GA.
Duties
Perform minor maintenance such as cleaning stock and parts, applying protective coatings, and replacing wooden handles on broken tools.
Conduct inventories by counting items on hand, searching bins for missing items, and taking recounts as necessary.
Use designated automated tracking system to inventory, issue and received tools and equipment.
Recommend the purchase of other tools, equipment, or supplies based on the need of unit personnel.
Report damaged or inoperative tools and used or excess stock or parts to the supervisor.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a pre-employment physical.
- This position requires obtain and maintain of a valid state driver's license.
- This position requires obtain and maintain of forklift operator license.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Tools and Parts Attendant (Forklift Operator/Motor Vehicle Operator) ~ without more than normal supervision. Perform duties to include reporting short, over, and damaged conditions of incoming stock, and make reports on these conditions. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Physical Effort: Work requires standing, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries items that weigh up to 10 pounds, and occasionally handles items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions: Work is done in a storage area this is well lighted and heated, but occasionally drafty and noisy. Is frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, and bruises. The above working conditions have been considered in the evaluation of the job and do not meet the criteria for compensation by environmental differential pay.
