Duties

You will provides full-spectrum customer support to enable realistic training for range users. You will coordinate proactively with range users to identify range support requirements and opportunities to improve training realism, range management, scheduling and de-confliction, and training support. You will spearhead the development of range project packages and nominate projects for inclusion on the Range Master Plan prioritized projects list. You will develops, implements, and enforces a comprehensive range complex instruction that delineates policies and procedures at the training center. You will ensure user elements are operating ranges in accordance with governing Navy Records of Compliance. You will maintain oversight of range usage, compile statistical data to assess ongoing training support capabilities, and ensure documentation is available to justify follow-on range development and operations.

  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Range Safety Officer and Range Officer in Charge designation IAW COMNAVSPECWARCOMINST 3591.1 Series.
  • This position is a Tested Designated Position (TDP) and subject to random drug testing.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience: Identify material and facility deficiencies and develop project packages to address shortfalls. Examples of qualifying experience may include: Maintain living and operating facilities; Operation, maintenance and repair of ground maintenance equipment; Implement physical security requirements pertaining to weapons, ammunition and facilities.
