The incumbent is a Student Trainee (Human Resources Assistant) (OA) in the Administrative Resource Center (ARC); Managing Director, Service Delivery; Employment Services Division; branch as assigned. This is a developmental position designed to develop and promote the knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform at the journeyman level.

As a Student Trainee (Human Resources Assistant) (OA), your major duties may include:
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify for the grade 05 level, you must meet the following requirements:
A. Education: In the Internship Program you may qualify based solely on education as follows: Completion of 4 academic years of post-high school leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree.
OR
B. Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-04 level or equivalent, which is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and has equipped the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position successfully. Specialized experience for this position includes performing in a technical, clerical, or administrative support role for a business or organization.
Examples could include duties such as:
- Utilizing computer systems and tools to prepare and update documents and reports; or greeting clients and responding to inquiries in person, via email, or on the telephone; OR
- Reviewing files or documents for completeness and compliance with established guidelines.
OR
C. You may qualify with a combination of qualifying education and experience. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
To qualify for the grade 04 level, you must meet the following requirements:
A. Education: In the Internship Program you may qualify based solely on education as follows: Completion of 2 full academic years of post-high school study or an associate's degree.
OR
B. Experience: For the GS-04 you must have at least one year of general experience which is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
OR
C. You may qualify with a combination of qualifying education and experience. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent.
If qualifying with experience, the experience may have been gained in either the public or private sector. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To receive any credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/year, and indicate the number of hours worked per week, on your résumé.
An academic year of undergraduate education is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in an accredited college or university.
The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
