You will serve as a IT Specialist (INFOSEC/CUSTSPT) in the Information Technology Department (N6), Strike Group Oceanography Team (SGOT) of STRIKE GROUP OCEANOGRAPHY TEAM NORFOLK.
Duties
You will perform analysis, planning, design, documentation, assessment/management of operational IT requirement documents, hardware/configuration data to align IT strategy, plans, infrastructure/systems to the organization mission goals/processes.
You will serve as Information Systems Security Manager responsible for all cybersecurity readiness and compliance issues within the command its subordinate activities.
You will conduct system security evaluations, audits, and review for SGOT Norfolk and subordinate command.
You will support senior senior officers with short and long-term strategic planning and execution of applicable cybersecurity program.

- The incumbent may be subject to work other than normal duty hours receiving (overtime or comp time) which can include evenings, weekends, emergency and/or holidays.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Develops and maintains cybersecurity program including policies and procedures to ensure IS confidentiality, integrity and availability and to prevent/defense against unauthorized access to system networks and data.
Coordinates the review evaluation of cybersecurity programs and effectiveness of implementations, identifies problem areas, updates of establishes new requirements in response to new technologies and threats and make recommendations.
Develops and implements training and awareness program to ensure systems, network and data users are aware of, understand and adhere to system security policies and procedures.
Initiates requests for new seats, accounts, applications, peripherals, specialty hardware or software, or priority application design, task orders and proposed move, add and change.
Conducts risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed IS to identify vulnerabilities, risks and protection needs.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combination of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements.
