THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC (SMALL SHOP CHIEF), Position Description Number D1072000 and is part of the PA Eastern Army Aviation Training Site, National Guard. 1 or more Position(s) may be hired against this Announcement.

Duties

As an AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC (SMALL SHOP CHIEF), WG-8602-11, you will plan and lay out work to be accomplished in the shop, which is then completed, by the incumbent and lower graded mechanic(s). Perform the full range of shop work. Perform in-process, final inspection, and clear status symbols certifying work performed by others in shop. Implement safety regulatory requirements. Prepare for, and participate in, various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

APPOINTMENT STATUS: EXCEPTED This is a Dual Status Excepted Service Technician position in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Bargaining Position AOC 1: NG Employees at the Eastern Army Aviation Training Site AOC 2: NG employees in the State Army Aviation Office (This includes AASF 1, AASF 2, and EAATS) AOC 3: NG Employees of the Pennsylvania National Guard AOC 4: All service members of the Pennsylvania National Guard (This includes Traditional Airmen, Temporary Technicians and AGR Personnel) AOC 5: Individuals who are currently serving in another branch of service who are willing to become members of the PANG Military Grades: ENLISTED: E1-E8 Supervisor for this position is CW3 Raho GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training that has provided the ability to perform assembly and disassembly operations and make prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories in accordance with technical specifications, procedures and requirements. Experience using hand and power tools common to the trade. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must indicate experience or training performing standard, routine assembly and disassembly operations and making prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories. Experience or training performing maintenance overhaul, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of aircraft engines, engine components, and power trains for fixed and/or rotary wing aircraft. Experience determining maintenance needed from work orders, inspection reports, historical record, and by own diagnosis. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled. SPECIAL NOTE: Per the Merit Promotion and Placement Plan (MPP) if there are more than 15 qualified applicants for each position, by category, a KSA board will be convened in accordance with Chapter 4 of the MPP.
