You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Project Execution Support Division, Engineering and Planning Department, of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.
Duties
You will assist the Project Engineer in resourcing of technical personnel and support the Joint Test Group (JTG), Hull, Mechanical and Electrical on technical issues.
You will continuously improve work processes and the efficient and effective utilization of manpower and material resources.
You will ensure that manpower and material costs are directly linked to program/mission objectives, and that expenditures remain within approved budget levels.
You will review prerequisite lists for interface key events/high-risk evolutions (docking; undocking; change of draft, trim, or list; fueling; defueling; shore steaming; fast cruise; cold/hot ops; critical testing; power range testing; sea trials).
You will identify and resolve problems encountered during installation, grooming, or testing phases of waterfront production efforts.
You will prepare engineering instructions and procedures to execute complex projects.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You may be required to perform occasional sea duty.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying technical engineering method, principles, and techniques to plan, schedule, and coordinate ship repair projects; resolving technical issues (e.g., technical documents, work procedures/processes); and ensuring project resources (e.g., manpower, material, costs) are utilized efficiently and effectively for optimum project performance.
