About the Position: You will serve as Chief, Construction Support Branch and Deputy Construction Division Chief responsible to plan, direct, coordinate, and supervise the Construction Support Branch, oversight of the Lewis and Clark Project Office, and for advisory functions for military and civil construction and control.

Duties

Plan and coordinate the work of the Branch through subordinate supervisors and technical experts. Represents the Construction Division Chief as needed to support District strategic goals and missions. Maintain overall technical responsibility and accountability for the technical adequacy of work. Plan and review organizational structure to adjust to rising and diminishing areas of construction due to workload fluctuation. Serve as the principal source of expertise and advice in contract administration and Federal Regulations pertaining to construction procurement. Provide technical inspection and assistance, analyses of construction problems, and recommendations on construction schedules, methods and materials to Area/Resident offices, other District elements and military and civilian customers.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a driver's license.
  • Incumbent may be required to travel/perform Temporary Duty (TDY) 25% of the time.

  • Must obtain and maintain a SECRET (Tier 3) security clearance.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Selective Placement Factor: This position requires possession of a Professional Registration: Professional Engineering (PE), Professional Architect (AIA), or Professional Geologist.
