Duties

This position require military membership in the Puerto Rico Army National Guard (PRARNG). Selected applicant(s) will be required to complete an online Onboarding process.

Requirements

• NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.
• This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
• Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
• Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
• Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
• Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
• Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain appropriated security clearance within one year of appointment.
• May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
• Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
• Continued employment in this position is contingent upon satisfactory completion of the mandatory training specifically identified for the position.
• Loss of military membership will result in immediate loss of your full-time military technician position.
• Continued employment in this position is contingent upon successful completion of the physical examination and periodic medical evaluation thereafter.
• Must possess a valid PR State driver’s license to operate government motor vehicle in accordance with Service specific Vehicle Operations Directives.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain the Government Travel Credit Card (GTC) as a condition of employment.
• This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

Qualifications

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: This position requires military membership in the Puerto Rico Army National Guard (PRARNG). If you are not a military member of the PRARNG (i.e., Airman, civilian, active-duty Soldier, prior service, guard member from another state, reservist, IRR, State Guard, etc.), you must contact the Recruiting and Retention (R&R) Office at (787) 289-1400 extension 2015 or 2008 and request the PRARNG Military Basic Requirements (MBR) Certification. If the MBR certification is not submitted, or you do not meet the requirements to be a member of the PRARNG, your application will not be screened. AREA OF CONSIDERATION: HRO MUST process and clear the Department of Defense (DoD), Priority Placement Program (PPP), prior to advertising all internal and external job vacancies and promotion announcements. Area 1 = All permanent Technician Enlisted member employee's (NG T32/NG T5) within Puerto Rico Army National Guard. DUTIES: As a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (D0561000), GS-2005-6, you will provide services in support of inventory control, storage, and distribution, cataloging or supply identification systems, property utilization, or other related supply activities including those associated with automated or manual supply accounting systems. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is primary sedentary, however, there may be walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items and/or files. No special physical demands required. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is typically performed indoors in an environment requiring normal safety precautions typical of an office setting. The area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Knowledge of basic or commonly applied rules, procedures, or operations such as, filling out, posting, filing, controlling, or coding documents and/or transactions. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must possess at least ONE (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower-level GS-05 or the equivalent TWELVE (12) months of specialized experience performing or supervising duties such as reviewing existing stock catalogs and drawings; maintaining contact with program representatives and other offices on special program requirements; reviewing requisitions, supporting documents, and reference material; inventorying management of decentralized and decontrolled items; working experience in one or more automated supply databases and the structure of a supply organization and the organizations serviced; establishing supply regulations, policies and procedures, or other governing supply management guidelines.

Education

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Completion of 2 academic years of education in an accredited college or university will satisfy the requirements (30 semester hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week) for 3 months of specialized experience. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. Courses must be directly related to the work of the position.
