About the Position: Position is located in Operations and Training at Evans Army Community Hospital, Fort Carson, CO.
Duties
Serves as the Command Security Specialist and Security SME, responsible for authoritative information and service for the Personnel Security (PERSEC) Program as it applies to MEDCOM and its subordinate activities.
Interprets Army regulations and other policy directives promulgated by Executive Orders, Department of Defense (DoD) directives and regulations.
Tracks PERSEC matters and metrics throughout the command by conducting data calls and aggregating metrics into digestible reports.
As the Foreign Disclosure Representative, coordinates specific disclosure actions for the disclosure of Classified Military Information (CMI) to foreign government representatives in support of approved U.S. Army international programs
Serves as Security Specialist for the Information Security (INFOSEC) program.
Reviews and approves Contract Security Classification Specifications for contracts involving classified information to ensure compliance with DoD Industrial Security Regulations
Reviews operations security procedures in order to deny adversaries information about facility capabilities.
Develops Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) policies and procedures and upon approval implements and/or oversee the actions and activities.
Organizes, creates, executes physical security plans, policy and evaluates its effectiveness throughout the command.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position requires a Top Secret security clearance.
- Must be obtain Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
- May be required to work overtime/irregular schedules or extended hours due to exercises, national special security events, or during national security crises.
- This is an Inclement Weather Essential position; you must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes utilizing a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to review, analyze, and resolve difficult and complex security problems related to Personnel Security, Information Security, Foreign Disclosure, and Industrial Security; and determining eligibility for access to classified or sensitive information and granting personnel security clearances/accesses.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
