The Product and Market Analytics Branch's (PMAB) mission is to monitor the health, performance, and market structure of U.S. derivatives markets, highlighting emerging trends, threats, and systemic risks. The branch undertakes critical studies, research and advice on policy, risk matters to the Division, the Commission and other stakeholders such as the Congress, White House.

Duties

This position serves as an Associate Director in the Product and Market Analytics Branch (PMAB) in the Division of Market Oversight (DMO) at CFTC. The mission of this Section is to monitor the health and performance of derivatives markets.  The section undertakes critical studies and provides advice on policy and emerging market issues to the Division, the Commission, and, as required, outside agencies.  The incumbent is a key member of the Branch’s leadership team and contributes to developing and implementing PMAB’s strategy and shared management responsibilities.  The incumbent will perform the following major duties.

Qualifications

To Qualify for the CT-15:  You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas: Knowledge of commodity markets, including cash and derivative market practices and operation. Demonstrated ability to identify and perform or lead complex research projects using proprietary CFTC data as well as data from other sources. Experience in providing guidance and leadership, in a supervisory or non-supervisory role, to others on complex and innovative technical analyses of derivative market data.

Education

Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable.
