This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard (USCG), Acquisition Programs Directorate (CG-93), Office of the Technical Director (CG-93TD) located in Washington, District of Columbia.

Duties

You will serve as the Special Projects Director within the office of the Technical Director and be responsible for ensuring policies, initiatives and procedures for accomplishment of strategic goals and operations are adhered to and provides advice, guidance, and direction on a wide range of program issues that are essential to the direction and efficient operation of CG-93TD. Qualifications

To be considered at the GS-12 level: Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. For this position, specialized experience includes: Analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of program operations to meet established goals and objectives. Proposing changes in mission, operating procedures and delegation of authority to ensure compliance with organizational needs. Developing new or modified administrative policies, processes to ensure that they are aligned with strategic goals and objectives. Developing procedure and systems for establishing, operating and assessing the effectiveness of administrative control systems designed to prevent waste, loss, or misappropriation of assets. Conducting studies of employee/organizational efficiency and productivity and recommend improvements in organization, staffing, work methods, and procedures. Contributing to budget planning, preparation, monitoring and reporting that is in compliance with federal budget/finance polices and processes to support organizations. *Selectee will be required to obtain and maintain DHS Acquisition COR Level II within 12 months of hire. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
