You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIAILIST in the FMS SUSTAINMENT DEPARTMENT of NAVAL AIR SYSTEM COMMAND HQ-OSF.

Duties

You will perform cost analysis and life cycle costing studies for assigned systems. You will plan and manage the actions required for procurement of resources needed for system logistic support. You will recommend development/production go ahead to the system program/project manager the acceptability of the system from a logistics/maintenance standpoint. You will review Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), assess the impact of changes to ILS, and recommends approval/disapproval based on trade-off analyses between improved performance/supportability and additional costs. You will explore advanced logistics/maintenance techniques and practices for possible application to the assigned program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field L Level 3. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Develop and implement the support and maintenance concepts and develops the maintainability requirements for assigned systems. 2) Review and justify requirements for new support facilities and plans the activation of system support sites. 3) Participate in the development and design of new systems by assessing the supportability and maintainability of proposed systems and technology applications. 4) Plan and manage the actions required for procurement of resources needed for system logistic support. 5) Review Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), assesses the impact of changes to ILS, and recommends approval/disapproval based on trade-off analyses between improved performance/supportability and additional costs.
