This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN TITLE 32 INDEFINITE, Position Description Number D1878000 and is part of the NH 260th ATCS, National Guard.

Duties
As a ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN TITLE 32 INDEFINITE, GS-0856-11, you will provide technical expertise to maintain and certify Air Traffic Control and landing systems (ATCALS). This includes performing investigation, analysis, diagnosis, testing, tuning, correction, optimization, alignment, and verification/certification to ensure continuous and reliable operation of air traffic control and landing and communications systems.

- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.

Qualifications
Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Compatible Military Assignments: 1C853, 1C873 Fully Qualified
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training performing simple mechanical installations and adjustments. Experience which demonstrates the applicant's ability to recognize obvious malfunctions. A good understanding of basic electronic theories and techniques and familiarity with standard electronic components and their use. Tracing circuitry, diagnosing malfunctions and adjusting controls to achieve peak performance. Experience using specific layout and schematic diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment such as power supplies, oscillators, amplifiers, etc. Using advanced methods in a full-range of troubleshooting procedures, techniques, and usage of test-set related equipment. Experience using common hand tools. Experience that demonstrates the ability to follow written instructions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: (GS-11) Must have 1-year equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-10). Experience, education, or training in utilizing principles, basic functions, and application of theory of electronic systems or equipment. Experience in diagnosing problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctions in electronic equipment or systems. Experience in making mechanical repairs that required the use of precision measuring and calibrating equipment. Experience in using complex test equipment such as deviation meters, complex special test panels, etc. Experience which demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and publications.
It is not necessary for applicants to possess the MOS/AFSC listed as compatible to the position in order to apply, however applicant must meet the qualifications for the position. It is applicant's responsibility to acquire a compatible MOS/AFSC within 1 year of appointment. Coordinate with your unit's training representative to determine whether or not you can qualify for a specific MOS/AFSC and/or receive training within the 1 year timeframe before accepting the position.
