THIS IS AN INDIANA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This position is in the Excepted Service under the authority of Title V, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA) This position is part of the IN Joint Forces HQ TAG, Indiana National Guard under Position Description Number T0034P01. Duties

Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of The Adjutant General’s (TAG) Integrated Primary Prevention (IPP) Program. Monitors and advises on activities of subordinate IPP programs. Acquires communications, automated feedback mechanisms and computer systems to collect, transmit, analyze, portray, and integrate cross-functional, programmatic, and organizational information. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • The employee will be required to take a drug test.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • The incumbent must obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. The incumbent of this position description must have at a minimum, a completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to position assignment.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
  • Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
  • Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
  • May require travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
  • The work may require the incumbent to drive a motor vehicle; if so, and an appropriate valid driver’s license is mandatory.
  • This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences. . These courses would have provided an applicant with skills and abilities sufficient to perform progressively more responsible work in the occupation. or Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences. . These courses would have provided an applicant with skills and abilities sufficient to perform progressively more responsible work in the occupation. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 12 months of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Experience, education or training analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions; preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence; evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various social science resources. Must have knowledge of the organization and its mission and utilized the organizational staff procedures. Experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of social science program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions. Knowledge of research, analytical and evaluative techniques and methods (and the ability to adapt as appropriate) to analyze reports, gather data, review suggestions, and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the National Guard Primary Prevention efforts sufficient to develop solutions to situations not normally encountered; to recognize and define social problems, to reach accurate conclusions, and to measure and improve program effectiveness and productivity, and make recommendations for program improvement at the State and National Level.
