You will serve as the Deputy Director of Installation and Logistics in the Department of Installation and Logistics (I&L) of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION MIRAMAR.

Duties

You will serve as the MCAS Miramar Deputy Director of Installation and Logistics. You will be responsible for developing, directing, and completing logistics management programs, liaison/advisory responsibilities, and operations of the department. You will advise the Commanding Officer and other staff members on installation and logistics issues by planning, developing, executing, and managing MCAS Miramar Installation and Logistics functions and programs. You will exercise managerial responsibility over a department of approximately 125 military and 115 civilian employees. You will manage the Civilian Hiring Program within the department, assessing recruitment and placement needs and priorities by analyzing on-board strength, anticipated losses, and projected workload fluctuations. You will research installation, logistics, fiscal, environmental, and personnel regulations and procedures to provide data for accomplishing the department's mission. You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

  • This position may require the employee to travel away from the assigned duty station.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • Recall to duty is a requirement of this position.
  • This position is designated a ‘key" position in accordance with agency requirements.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations to include cost/funding; program objectives; inventory control; logistic support, and personnel and process management.
