This announcement will be used for the Hiring Event at the Eglin Golf Course (1527 Fairway Dr. in Niceville) on 4 SEPTEMBER 2024 from 0830-1400. This position will be assigned to the Resource, Recovery and Recycling Program on Eglin AFB. Those who apply by August 28th may be scheduled for an interview the day of the hiring event.

Duties

The function of the Resource, Recovery, and Recycling Program (RRRP) is to recover and recycle resources at Eglin AFB. The purpose if this position is to operate RRRP baling machine, heavy equipment, and operate a motor vehicle. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:1. Operate RRRP baling machines used to bale (compress) paper, cardboard, steel scrap, or other loose materials to facilitate handling. Performs operator preventive maintenance on baling machines and other recycling equipment.2. Operates and performs operator maintenance on various motor vehicles with gross weight more than 10,000 pounds and up to 26,000 pounds and with cargo loads exceeding 7,000 pounds. Operates material handling equipment used at the RRRP center.3. Operates other RRRP machines such as conveyors, densifiers, perforators, and other associated equipment.4. Load trucks including semi-trailers with processed recycling materials and is responsible for ensuring all cargo is properly loaded, unloaded, and secured for transport.5. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Recycling Center Manger or QRP manger. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience which demonstrates knowledge of industrial baling machines and other machinery used in the RRRP operations. Must have skill in operating large trucks and materials handling equipment. Must be able to follow oral and writteninstructions. Requires reaching, turning or moving hands, arms, feet and legs; associated duties require stooping, bending and climbing. Lifts and carries objects weighing up to 40 pounds and occasionally heavier with assistance. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a preemployment physical. Must have a valid drivers license. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 background investigation. "This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use."
