The primary purpose of this position is: To exercise second level supervisory and managerial authorities over the Communications, Plans, Programs and Resources Flight.
Duties
Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Communications, Plans, Programs and Resources Flight.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Represents the Communication Squadron with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Performs as plans and policy advisor to functional users of information technology.

- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft/vehicle to conferences, meetings, or functions away from the duty office/location. Travel may include overnight stays.
- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours and/or Shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
- This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.

- Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes information??assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement.
- Incumbent of this position??must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties.
- A waiver of this six-month requirement may be granted. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.
- A one (1) year supervisory probationary period is required if applicant selected has not previously met this requirement.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience: Must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving AND one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12 (or equivalent in other pay systems) which includes; Application a wide range of cyber principles, concepts, and methods, new and emerging information technologies. Applies safety and security regulations, practices and procedures. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organizations through subordinate supervisors. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of cyber principles, concepts, and methods, new and emerging information technologies.
2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices and procedures.
3. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organizations through subordinate supervisors.
4. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
5. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
6. Ability to analyze complexities of existing technology, review/revise/develop policy, initiate plans for enhancements, and provide management sufficient technical and cost analysis information, through written documentation and oral briefings, to render informed judgments
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
