About the Position: Serves as Contractor Officer's Representative (COR) and manager of Capital Investment Program in General Supply Office at Letterkenny Munitions Center independently planning and carrying out work, resolving conflicts that arise, coordinating work with others, and interpreting policy on own initiative.

Duties

Serve as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) involved in all aspects of the equipment acquisition process and maintenance contracts with commercial vendors. Analyze contract specifications and examining pertinent equipment to determine if specifications are met. Conduct studies relative to equipment design, layout, and utilization. Identify developmental and training needs of employees. Review equipment utilization, replacement, and repair records for Letterkenny Munitions Center (LEMC). Manage the Capital Investment Program (CIP) for LEMC and serves as the LEMC liaison for the Crane Army Ammunition Activity CIP Manager. Check and monitor instances of poor utilization to determine cause and possible improvement of the equipment. Develop data to ensure the orderly replacement of obsolete, over-aged, and uneconomically repairable items.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for this position.
  • Ammunition certification in accordance with AMC-R 350-4 is required within one year of appointment.
  • Employees may be required to use protective clothing and equipment.
  • Required to travel 15% of the time for official duty.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Contract Officer Representative (COR) certification.
