This position manages a multi-faceted organization through the management of subordinate supervisory staff, multi-year/operational budgets, and the utilization of new information technologies. These duties provide stewardship of assets/facilities ensuring, visitor use and enjoyment as well as the protection of natural and cultural resources
Duties
Serves as the Facility management expert in support of park unit management initiatives with a basic knowledge of trades, materials, and equipment applicable to facility maintenance and operations within a park unit.
Implements Facility Management Software Systems for cost effective management assets.
Ability to collaborate with park team and partners to develop and achieve park, program and projects goals.
Ability to manage complex projects to timely completion. Prepare annual work budget plans for maintenance operations.
Initiate actions and serve as the liaison for compliance of environmental/cultural issues related to project proposals and park operations. Knowledge of trades, materials and equipment applicable to facility maintenance and operations within the park unit.
REQUIREMENTS:

Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.

Qualifications
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-08/30/2024-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement.
Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 for each federal position listed as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of qualifying experience that you will be granted. To qualify for this position at the GS-12 grade level, you must possess all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to managing a maintenance program. Examples of qualifying specialized experience including managing a maintenance program for office or apartment building complexes, hospitals, recreation facilities or other special purpose installations; planning maintenance activities and preventive maintenance programs for a facility; estimating materials and labor costs for a variety of maintenance projects or contracts; working as a planner, contractor, or inspector of journeyman in the construction industry; experience in building trade practices; and experience working with the Facility Management Software System (FMSS), or comparable maintenance management, cost estimating and/or project management systems. You must include hours per week worked.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
