Duties

Serves as first line supervisor over a variety of maintenance personnel and mechanics. Plans weekly and monthly work schedules. Ensures equipment and supplies are available and used correctly. Establishes deadlines and work sequences. Distributes daily work assignments to personnel. Maintains production reports and records. Develops performance standards, counsels employees on performance, and makes formal and informal performance appraisals. Counsels employees on performance issues and addresses informal complaints through discussions with employees and union representatives. Identifies training needs and initiates procedures to provide necessary training.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires you to complete a pre-employment and annual physical evaluation.
• One year supervisory probationary period may be required.

Qualifications

Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 1 year by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. The work of the position normally includes: supervise maintenance personnel/mechanics in a manufacturing environment; Develop work schedules related to the maintenance of equipment used in the manufacturing of equipment; Review employees' completed work to ensure it meets industry standards; and Complete production reports on maintenance scheduled, in-progress, and completed to meet deadlines.- Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
