You will serve as a PRODUCTION MACHINERY MECHANIC in the FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHEAST of FLTREADCEN DET MID ATLANTIC PAX RIVER.

Duties

You will independently develop plans, complete assignments, troubleshoot equipment to determine required repairs. You will independently performs preventative maintenance tasks, determine what parts or material are required, and select the methods, techniques, and procedures to be utilized. You will manufacture, repair, assemble/disassemble, adjust, test, modify, align, and install multi-functional mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components of ALRE production and industrial support machinery and equipment. You will Interprets complex multiview drawings, sketches, manufacturers’ specifications, and other technical material. You will isolates and identify causes of improper operation and areas of difficulty. You will utilize your technical knowledge to to perform repairs and modifications when blueprints and manufacturers' specifications are unavailable, incomplete, or when no such guidance exists. You will demonstrate skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with VRT Production personnel, VRT Support personnel, VRT Managers, contractors supporting VRT, and other organizational personnel.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Conducting maintenance and repairing industrial mechanical equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as well as Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machines, 2) Ability to perform routine, emergent, and preventative maintenance within established timelines to avoid production delays, 3) Performing general facilities maintenance and construction work, 4) Following blueprints and other schematics associated with equipment and facilities maintenance, and 5) Utilizing tools of the trade to conduct maintenance and construction work.
