About the Position: This position is located at the Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center (JMTC).
Duties
Serve as foreman, controlling work operations involving subordinate toolmakers and machinists.
Establishes deadlines and priorities based on general work schedules, methods, and policies.
Maintains production reports and records.
Reviews work in progress and upon completion.
Determines equipment and supplies needed for work.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a security background investigation.
- This position requires you to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment and annual physical examinations thereafter.
Qualifications
Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) one (1) year by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Toolmaker Supervisor without more than normal supervision. The work of the position normally includes ability to lead or supervise Toolmakers and Machinists in a manufacturing environment in areas such as: Plan weekly and monthly work schedules and sequence of operations for subordinates by setting deadlines, and allocating resources; Explain work requirements, methods, and procedures; and Maintain production reports and records and periodically review standard operating procedures for accuracy. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is usually performed in a well lighted, heated, and ventilated area. However, you will be required to visit the manufacturing operations, where exposure to constant noise, coolants, solvents, oils, grease, operating machinery and moving vehicles are present.
