This position is located in the Air Traffic Organization (ATO), Program Management Organization (PMO). The PMO provides program and acquisition management for systems and capabilities that modernize and sustain the National Airspace System (NAS) to advance NAS programs from concepts to operation while providing technical support for air traffic automation and decision support systems.
Duties
As a senior Air Traffic Control Specialist located at an Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC), he/she works with National Airspace System (NAS) software systems, applying technical automation and air traffic familiarization to resolve software problems, create and manage the adaptation database and provide direct automation support to air traffic operations.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents).

This experience must have provided a comprehensive knowledge of appropriate air traffic control laws, rules and regulations. Creditable experience must have equipped applicants with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the full range of duties of the position for which application is being made.To qualify for this position at the J payband you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I / FG/GS-13. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience may include but is not limited to: Experience analyzing system performance and fault information to identify causes of adaptation problems or system failures and recommending corrective action. Experience performing technical analyses, documentation, and related tasks in direct support of the air traffic operations.Applicants should include examples of specialized experience in their work history.Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.If the Agency decides to interview any qualified employee on the selection list, then all on the list who are qualified must be interviewed.
