About the Position:
Fort Meade is located almost midway between the cities of Baltimore, MD and Washington, DC and is home to approximately 10,000 military personnel along with about 25,000 civilian employees. Approximately 6,000 family members reside on post. Fort Meade is virtually a city in itself, with a modern exchange mall, a commissary, and state of the art fitness centers, historical library, jogging trails, RV Park and much more.
Duties
•Provide customer service, technical assistance and training to Battalion staff and subordinate organizations on a variety of IT equipment, software products and non-procedural computer languages and telecommunications systems.
•Plan, prepare, execute and assess the networks to integrate and synchronize information-related capabilities.
•Prepare continuity of operations plans in the case of personnel shortages, national disasters, emergencies and periods of degraded capabilities.
•Oversee and assist with technical assistance and support matters.
Requirements
- Must be able to successfully complete the appropriate training and certifications as outlined in DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program as well as DoD Directive 8140.01, Cyberspace Workforce Management.
- Temporary business travel may be required up to 35% of the time
- This position requires the incumbent to possess, obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience:providing customer support and technical assistance in a variety of IT equipment to include hardware, software and telecommunications systems.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
