About the Position: Serves as a Security Forces Assistance Command (SFAC) Plans Specialist. Located at Fort Liberty, NC, a culturally diverse area with rural and city populations, co-located at Fayetteville, NC centrally located in the beautiful state of North Carolina, which enjoys a temperate year-round climate and world-renowned colleges and universities. Fayetteville is centrally located between the beautiful beaches of NC and the scenic Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains.
Duties
Develops and implements frameworks to evaluate the progress of plans and methodologies and recommends adjustment to plans based on changes to the operational environment.
Translates conceptual plans into detailed orders for execution by subordinate units.
Develops, manages and/or recommends plans, programs, and procedures for the SFAC and subordinate units in accordance with DOD, JCS, HQDA, FORSCOM, and SFAC directives and guidance.
Communicates plans for SFAB employment through applicable deployment orders.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time within Continental United States and Outside Continental .
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

One year of specialized experience which includes demonstrated experience 1) Evaluating the impact of changes in legislative and regulatory requirements to long term strategic plans.2 ;) Conducting studies to determine program effectiveness for comparison to strategic planning goals, and 3 ;) Assisting with the review of proposed automated system integration to make implementation recommendations to senior leaders. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
