This position is located in the United States Mint, San Francisco. As a Materials Handler Leader, you will lead a team in calculating and recording weights; maintaining inventory control records; performing material handling duties; receiving, inventory, storage, delivery and shipment of coinage metals, materials and equipment.
Duties
As a MATERIALS HANDLER LEADER, you will:
Relay job assignments received from the supervisor and makes specific assignments to ensure proper job sequence, most effective and efficient use of labor, materials, and equipment are met. Advise on methods and procedures to be followed. Discuss plans, material equipment and personnel requirements.
Check work in progress; may require more exacting or difficult tasks to be cleared with him/her before accomplishment. Upon completion, consult with supervisor and make recommendations.
Expedite the handling, processing, movement, storage and shipment of materials and equipment using material handling equipment (e.g., hand trucks, dollies, pallet jacks, work savers and/or forklifts).
Verify inventory by moving items within the storage area; maintain available, stored inventory quantities by counting and weighing items; maintain inventory comparisons of "stock-on-hand" against automated system balance information; analyze differences; and takes corrective action(s) to reconcile discrepancies in inventory balances.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service.
You must meet the screen-out element Ability To Lead Or Supervise, normally addressed at the beginning of the online questions.
