This position is located in the Office of Information Technology. As an IT Specialist (Policy and Planning) (IT Governance), you will be reporting to the Assistant Director of Portfolio & Governance and serves primarily as an IT Governance Coordinator responsible for overseeing the Change Management process and serving as a subject matter expert on, IT Change Management, Risk Management, Compliance, Project and Program Management, and Resource Management within the organization.
Duties
As an IT Specialist (Policy and Planning) (IT Governance), you will:
Initiate, refine and oversee the governance processes within TIGTA, ensuring that all changes are properly classified, prioritized, planned, approved, executed, and documented. This includes maintaining the Change Management database, tracking all changes and their associated risks, impacts, and outcomes.
Coordinate and lead transitioning to ServiceNow for Configuration Management (CM) module.
Develop and streamline efficient asset management for both software and hardware acquisition.
Under the guidance of the Assistant Director Governance and Program Management, work closely with IT teams, business units, and other stakeholders to identify, plan, and execute changes to IT systems, applications, and infrastructure teams.
Work with other Office of Information Technology specialists to develop and implement best practice for governance and project management.
Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of implemented changes, ensuring that they achieve their intended objectives and do not negatively impact business operations, based on standards.
Train and mentor IT staff and other stakeholders on IT governance and project management processes, tools, and best practices.
Prepare reports, memoranda, polices, statements, proposals, and other written guidelines. Maintain records or work accomplishments and administrative information, and coordinate the preparation, presentation, and communication of work-related information to the manager.
Perform other tasks assigned under the leadership of the AD, Governance & IT Portfolio Management.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Implementing management decisions using change management, addressing issues, risk management, and recommending solutions; AND
- Experience with IT governance policies, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) standards, and procedures to ensure that changes align with organizational policies and federal regulations; AND
- Experience managing IT governance boards for effective IT portfolio and investment management processes.
In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must also show proficiency in 1) attention to detail, 2) customer service, 3) oral communication, and 4) problem solving.
Time-in-Grade:In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
