The incumbent performs all the regular and ad hoc duties of the Coach in his/her absence or sharing those responsibilities daily. This includes ensuring the continuity of team supervision. This position is the assistant supervisor of one of the teams located within the Veterans Service Center (VSC) or Pension Management Center (PMC), Benefit Eligibility Support Team (BEST) Division, Integrated Disability Evaluation System (IDES).

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement 08/28/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.

Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Minimum Qualification requirements as noted below.
Specialized Experience: To qualify for the Supervisory Veterans Service Representative (Assistant Coach), GS-0996-12 position you must have at least one year of full-time specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the public or private sectors providing quality assurance or auditor functions related to claims processing and benefit determination; adjudicating and authorizing of compensation, pension, and claims; providing determination to reconsider claims appeal cases; and preparing presentations to reconsider claims appeal cases.
There is no educational substitution for this grade level.

Physical Requirements: The work normally involves mental rather than physical exertion.
