About the Position: This position is with the 85th United States Army Reserve Support Command, Headquarters located in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Duties

Oversee financial management program execution for subordinate elements to ensure proper fund controls. Ensure available funding is distributed in accordance with established priorities. Interpret budget directives and fiscal regulations. Review budget requirements in order to coordinate and control estimates for command programs. Manage resources and forecast budgetary trends and activities. Review operating programs and budgets to determine compliance and validity of requirements. Develop Resource Management policies and instructions within the organization’s guidelines. Serve as liaison with higher headquarters.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires DoD Financial Management Certification Program Level 2 within 2 years.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes an advanced understanding of procedures and requirements to formulate, edit, consolidate, and justify budget estimates; adjusting data to execute the command's budget; working with various appropriations to ensure that command programs are financed correctly; and analyzing financial data to develop budget estimates and allocation of resources. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
