The United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York's mission is to investigate, prosecute and deter violations of federal statutes, enforce and represent the interests of the United States in civil litigation, uphold civil, constitutional and victims' rights, and foster partnerships with other federal, state and local government agencies and community groups.
Duties
This Management and Program Analyst Officer plans, develops, directs, and administers comprehensive staff operations with second level oversight of four branches including 1. District-wide Human Resources (HR) Operations; 2. Long Island administrative support; and 3. two legal support teams, one serving the Criminal Division and the other supporting the Civil Division.
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing Management and Program Analyst Officer support in the U.S. Attorney's Office, Eastern District of New York, located in Central Islip, New York, focusing in the areas of administrative and legal support.
Typical work assignments will include:
Planning work to be accomplished by subordinates, setting goals and priorities, and preparing schedules for completion of work.
Providing management and leadership for LI Division by applying management techniques and methods for the accomplishment of the administrative and legal support programs' objectives.
Conducting complex management and program analysis and advising the Presidentially appointed United States Attorney on all administrative and operations matters, including human resources and administrative matters, to include workforce planning, strategic hiring initiatives, performance management, and operations of HR in order to provide objectively based information for making decisions on the administrative and programmatic aspects of operations and management of the LI Division.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying:
To qualify at the GS-14 level, you must possess:
Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service performing (obtained in either the public or private sectors) (3) of the (4) duties listed below:
Providing expert-level analysis and advice on a myriad of management, program, and operational issues related to the administration of an office or division;
Applying human resource laws and regulations, guidance and principles, and procedures to oversee the planning, development and implementation of a human resources program;
Analyzing and evaluating program performance of administrative and operational programs to make recommendations to senior management;
Leading or directing a staff responsible for human resources; administrative; or legal support.

TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-13is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 level.
You must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted; recommended SF-50s include promotions and step increases (within grade increases).
