About the Position: Works under the general supervision of the Airfield Manager who provides overall scope and objective of assignment and general course of action required. Independently plans and completes assignments in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and accepted airfield practices and procedures.

Duties

Serve as Supervisory Airfield Management Specialist and manages Davison Army Airfield’s Base Operations and assists in the management and operations of the Pentagon helipad Research, interpret, and develop organizational policy, guides, and operation procedures, ensuring compliance with DoD, DA, FAA, ICAO and various garrison regulations, laws, and directives as they apply to daily airfield or heliport operations. Direct requisition, receipt, and distribution of DoD Flight Information Publications (FLIPs) to include civilian/FAA navigation charts and aeronautical publications. Direct the work of approximately 10 employees on an assigned shift to ensure flight service/base operations are conducted in a timely and efficient manner. Resolve issues with commercial contractors and installation service personnel requiring access to the airfield flight line. Provide management, direction and oversight of Davison Army Airfield's Base Operations.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
