This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Technician/ Administrative Support Work Category at the Entry/Developmental Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA-EMERGING TECHNOLOGY DIRECTORATE (EM2).
Duties
Performs procedural and routine tasks and works closely with a team leader and/or supervisor, in a training capacity, on assigned tasks.
In a training environment, work may involve systems and services used in the automated acquisition, storage, manipulation, management, movement, control, display, and switching.
Assists in troubleshooting accessibility and availability problems and initiates corrective actions.
Ensures basic application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of services.
Performs a variety of limited technical tasks designed to familiarize the incumbent with regulatory guidelines, terminology, procedures, and techniques of Information Technology.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must be enrolled or have been accepted for enrollment and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) at a qualifying educational institution on a full or half time basis.
- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- Educational enrollment MUST be on a half-time or full-time basis. Half-time basis is defined by the academic institution that the student is enrolled or accepted into.
- Official/Unofficial transcripts with the current enrollment course load.

Basic Requirements:
For the GG-07 grade level: Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate level education or eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement Provision after completing a bachelor's degree.
All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
