This position is located in the Hermits Peak Claims Office, Recovery Directorate and serves as a training specialist focused on developing and delivering training to staff directly engaged in claims processing and the system of record. The incumbent plans, develops, monitors, evaluates, and delivers one on one and group training and coaching activities. as well as adapts training and training curriculum. The incumbent works closely with supervisors and staff to assess training needs.

What will I do in this position if hired? This position is being hired in compliance with the Hermit's Peak/Calf Canyon Fire Assistance Act to staff the Hermit's Peak/Calf Canyon Fire Claims Office within FEMA.

To qualify for this Training Specialist position at the IC-12 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: Leading a team in the delivery of technical training or educational content in a one-on-one or group setting. Designing or updating classroom or training materials for diverse audiences. Conveying training and teaching information verbally and in writing. AND Individual Occupational Requirements In addition to the minimum qualifications described above, you must meet the following requirement(s) to be considered qualified for the position: Education Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. or Experience Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s). Supervising or administering a training program. Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results. Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.
