About the Position: Position is for a Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist, GS-1640-13, and will serve as the Full Deputy to the Operations Project Manager, Chief, Mississippi River Project at the Mississippi River Project Office located in Pleasant Valley, Iowa.

Duties

As the Deputy, oversee the Mississippi River Project assigned portion of the Operations Division, operations and maintenance program involving navigation, natural resource management and recreational functions and activities. Perform supervisory and related managerial duties to direct Mississippi River Project operations. Coordinate with other projects/districts/divisions on matters concerning operations, maintenance and repairs. Manage natural resource and recreation activities for the Mississippi River Project

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Must possess and maintain a valid stateside driver's license.
• One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
• Required to travel on public roads and highways in all kinds of weather.
