Duties

As the Deputy, oversee the Mississippi River Project assigned portion of the Operations Division, operations and maintenance program involving navigation, natural resource management and recreational functions and activities. Perform supervisory and related managerial duties to direct Mississippi River Project operations. Coordinate with other projects/districts/divisions on matters concerning operations, maintenance and repairs. Manage natural resource and recreation activities for the Mississippi River Project

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Must possess and maintain a valid stateside driver's license.
• Required to travel on public roads and highways in all kinds of weather.
• One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.

Minimum Qualifications-Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: executing the full range of human resources, including performance management, and fiscal responsibilities, involving the management and administration of navigation, maintenance, and/or natural resources management activities; AND/OR directing assignments related to operation and normal maintenance of navigational or waterway facilities; major maintenance for lock and dam facilities and channels; and/or on-site administration and management of recreational and natural resources.
