You will serve as a SPONSORED PROGRAMS ADMINISTRATOR of NAVAL POSTGRADUATE SCHOOL.
Duties
You will generate correspondence to document status, decisions, or other project related events or actions.
You will maintain written documentation of program and administrative reference materials, project files, and relevant background documents for project reference.
You will coordinate with managers and staff to obtain forms and documentation required to support budget estimates.
You will assist in the maintenance of sponsored programs activity systems including financial transactions and project management data.
You will provide technical support to sponsored programs system users.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
FOR THE GS 9
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Communicating complex administrative requirements and processes orally and in writing to faculty, staff and/or management; 2) Applying knowledge of fiscal operations to interpret funding data, facilitate project account establishment, and identify budget discrepancies; 3) Supporting system users by providing updates and generating reports; and 4) Troubleshooting system issues to develop solutions.
FOR THE GS 7
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing administrative support for managers and employees; 2) Utilizing computer equipment/software to gather, record and/or analyze administrative information; 3) Reviewing financial data and documents for accuracy; and 4) Providing recommendations to department leadership on system improvements to increase efficiency and improve customer service.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
FOR THE GS 7
1 full year of graduate level education
or
superior academic achievement
FOR THE GS 9
master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
