Duties

Serve as a Knowledge Management Officer and an active member of the DLA Watch Floor. Actively support the Agency Synchronization Operations Center (ASOC) personnel by analyzing and synthesizing DLA Dashboard data and information. Support the members and logistical operations of the Agency Synchronization Operations Center (ASOC), all assigned staff, and Major Subordinate Command (MSC) members. Collect real-time information of critical DLA logistic sustainment operations and other world events for situational awareness. Provide DLA leadership with metrics, data, and various reports and logistical analysis/actionable information in support of the organization's mission. Participates in crisis and contingency operations to ensure DLA's full support of the Combat Commands, their components, services, the Department of Defense, and other Federal Agencies during crisis situations. Provides logistical oversight and guarantees future warfighter requirements are channeled to the correct DLA Major Subordinate Command (MSC)/Regional Command for integration into future sustainment operations. Serves as a J3 logistical liaison with DLA supply chain experts, executive agents, various internal and external organizations. Develops general web page sketches and concept maps to identify and articulate any new page concepts, ensuring adherence and compliance with established DLA site architecture.

  • This position and any future selections from this announcement may be used to fill various shifts located within DLA Logistics Operations in Fort Belvoir, VA.
  • This is a Mission Essential (ME) position.  The incumbent may be required to report to work in the event of a natural disaster, inclement weather, or crisis.
  • You will be a Mission Essential employee. This requires you to work during an emergency to ensure continuation of essential functions.  You may be required to work at the designated duty location, a telework site, or an alternate location/facility.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Logistics Management Specialist, GS-0346-13, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (Grade Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Basic knowledge in designing and implementing graphical web pages to design web interfaces to systems and/or databases, mail, and interactive web interfaces to databases. Familiar with basic Hyper Text Message Language (HTML) and JavaScript in order to maintain and troubleshoot basic web pages. Expert knowledge of analytical and statistical methods and techniques to conduct a detailed analysis of wartime requirements, formulate feasibility, and sustainability. Expert knowledge of information management processes/systems, logistics systems; wartime and emergency logistics doctrines, organizations, and planning systems. Mastery of organizational principles, with a comprehensive knowledge of logistics management concepts, policies, methods, and regulatory requirements, especially those that govern logistical support planning. The application of advanced analytical and statistical methods and techniques within a highly stressful, fast-paced environment. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
