Duties
Receives and issues and provides guidance to lower-level workers in the receipt and issue of bulk petroleum products.
Takes samples of fuel for laboratory analysis.
Projects monthly quantities of fuels required for the coming year based on past consumption, forecasts of requirements from visiting units, and information provided by the USPF.
Accounts for all fuels received, stored, and issued.
Provides technical advice on and inspects construction of all Bladder Tank Farms set up by tenants or units in training, to include Fuel System Supply Points and/or Forward Area Refueling Points.
Performs operator maintenance on fuel distribution system, such as lubing pump bearings, changing strainer filters, adding anti-algae and other additives to fuels, and obtains and schedules required maintenance.
Prepares and updates fuel-related standing operating procedures (SOP’s).
Serves as physical key custodian for all POL areas of responsibility, including service stations.
Prepares and updates POL portion of the mobilization plan for the training site.
Requirements

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

Qualifications
MILITARY GRADES: E3 THROUGH E9
COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: 92 SERIES
The policy to have a compatible MOS/AFSC has been suspended. When reinstated, you will have one year to meet the qualifications of this position or meet the requirements in the guidance set by NGB.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to follow instructions and to safely operate the type of equipment required to accomplish the duties of the position.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 12 months experience or training working in activities such as large fuel depots or fuel farms with complex, interconnecting line and pipe arrangements, and frequent requirements for large scale movement and transfer of a variety of liquid fuels.
Specialized Experience Requirements for NGB Federal Wage System Positions for claiming civilian job experience: Creditable experience must have been performed at least 30 consecutive days and be properly documented.
Experience in the same line of work can only be credited on the basis of a regular 40-hour workweek. Hours per week MUST be documented on resume to receive any credit.
