Duties

You will serve as a Special Assistant to the Chief of Naval Air Training (CNATRA) in executing required investigative, audit, and oversight responsibilities for a large, complex and geographically dispersed command. You will provide critical services in determining the state of economy, efficiency, discipline, morale, esprit de corps, and readiness throughout the command. You will personally investigate and report on allegations of non-compliance with established program requirements, professional standards of conduct, and personal misconduct. You will make objective and impartial assessments of the operational and administrative effectiveness of inspected activities with recommendations for improvements across the Naval Air Training Command (NATRACOM) enterprise. You will conduct special investigations and inquiries as directed by CNATRA on allegations of military and civilian employee misconduct; prohibited personnel practices, including complaints of disparate treatment, and hostile work environment. You will investigate loss or compromise of Personal Protected Information/Controlled Unclassified Information; violations of ethics/standards of conduct regulations; potentially adverse security clearance matters. You will research claims for or against the Government; constituent complaints made to Congressional representatives; and other issues as assigned. You will investigate, prepare, and coordinate responses to all Inspector General (IG) hotline, fraud/waste/abuse, and whistleblower reprisal/retaliation complaints that are tasked to CNATRA for command inquiry and response.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector planning, conducting, and preparing investigative reports regarding employee complaints (e.g., discrimination harassment, misconduct) and/or allegations of fraud, waste, and abuse.
