You will serve as a TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANT (OA) in the Installations & Logistics Department, Motor Transport Division, Maintenance Section of MCRD ERR PI SC.

Duties

You will use computers to perform clerical and administrative tasks (e.g., create documents, maintenance requests, correspondence, memos, reports and records.) You will answer phone calls to provide requested maintenance information and contact vendor for status updates. You will schedule and ensure vehicles and equipment are brought in for preventive maintenance, load test, and condition inspections You will initiate, prepare, edits, and processes requisition or micro-purchase worksheets for service, parts, materials, and supplies used in maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment. You will process invoices for payment and verify receipts for invoiced parts, materials and supplies.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • Relocation expenses (i.e. PCS) may be authorized in accordance with applicable travel regulations.
  • This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • You will be required to pick-up and delivery of light passenger vehicles.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-4 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Preforming administrative duties such as creating maintenance reports and records, answer phone calls providing information for supply vendors and customers, track and manage a vehicle schedule system to update preventive maintenance., Reviewing correspondence for grammar, spelling and punctuation. Utilizing procedures and manuals for purchasing and correspondence. Preparing reports and recognizing inconsistencies, variances and apparent error in data. Education


In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

4 years above high school

OR

A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
