The Radiology Department is currently seeking a Lead Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (CT-General) to add to their team. The incumbent of this position functions as a team leader for the assigned team performing CT and general diagnostic radiological services and utilizes a variety of coordinating, coaching, facilitating, and planning techniques. Duties
Distributing and balancing the workload among employees in accordance with established workflow or job specialization, assuring timely accomplishment of the assigned workload.
Giving job training to new employees in accordance with established procedures and practices.
Performing quality control/diagnostics on equipment, when necessary.
Modifying and adjusting daily exam schedules to meet medical emergencies and special requests.
Prescreening patients utilizing all CT data sheets, questionnaires, and orders to ensure the patient is appropriate for the exam, contrast, and clinical history.
Notifying radiologist of significant scan abnormalities at the time of scanning requiring immediate attention.
Requirements

Qualifications
To qualify for a Lead Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (CT-General) GS-0647-11:
You must have:
(1) successfully completed an educational program that meets or exceeds the credentialing standards described in 42 CFR Part 75 that is accredited by an organization recognized by the Department of Education,
AND
(2) be certified as a radiographer as evidenced by an active state or national license which is in good standing.
The following meets the above standards:
1. Persons employed by the Federal Government as a radiologic personnel prior to January 13,1986 who show evidence of current or fully satisfactory performance or certification of such from a licensed practitioner such as a doctor of medicine, osteopathy, dentistry, podiatry, or chiropractic who prescribes radiologic procedures to others.
2. Persons first employed by the Federal Government as a radiologic personnel after the effective date of the regulation who (a) received training from institutions in a State of foreign jurisdiction that did not accredit training in that particular field at the time of graduation,
OR
(b) practiced in a State or foreign jurisdiction that did not license that particular field or did not allow special eligibility to take a licensure examination for those who did not graduate from an accredited educational program, provided that such persons show evidence of training, experience, and competence as determined by OPM or the employing agency.
Additional Qualifications requirements:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-10 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following tasks: leading staff members and managing workflow; monitoring the operation of CT and radiographic equipment and other related computer software/hardware; training staff on the proper uses and methods associated with imaging; monitoring and performing quality control of equipment, images, and exams; evaluating the effectiveness of the current diagnostic radiology practices and making recommendations for improvement.
