About the Position: Serves as the senior specialist and Manager of the District Computer Aided Design & Drafting (CADD) system, which includes AutoDesk MicroStation and Computer Aided Engineering Tools (CAE) such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), ProjectWise, and ProjNet.

Duties

Serves as the recognized authority within the District in CADD/CAE. Oversees the implementation and maintenance of computer engineering work systems and tools used for the development of projects, such as ProjNet (technical review of design documents), Lessons Learned, and ProjectWise. Serves as the District Manager for the implementation of the Corps mandated standards in CADD/CAE. Based on experience, knowledge of engineering, and general design requirements, and input from affected Engineering and Construction offices, analyzes condition of existing systems and engineering applications.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience includes 2 of the 3 following duties: 1) Administration of CAD/BIM software systems for compliance with established standards; OR 2) Developed construction drawings utilizing multiple CAD and/or BIM software systems; OR 3) Experience in developing a training plan and/or facilitating training. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Building and ConstructionDesignTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
